Program

Evaluations:
A team of two speech-language pathologists evaluates each client, to assess their needs and create a therapy program tailored to that individual.  We at Social Speakers believe in the importance of a team approach when taking into consideration the “whole” child.  Upon the completion of the evaluation, recommendations will be made regarding the type of therapeutic services indicated for your child.

Individual Therapy:
A therapist meets with a child on a one to one basis and addresses targeted goals, teaching the student skills necessary for the student to function in the school or home, and social situations (community). Skills are practiced and reintroduced until the student can independently use and maintain those skills across environments.

Social Skills Groups:
Our groups are run by two speech pathologists who are mentors in Michelle Garcia Winners Social Thinking® Program.  Social skill groups are created according to children with similar challenges who are ready to work on their targeted social skills in a group setting.

Each group is facilitated by two SLP’s who are trained specifically in initiating and monitoring social interactions between individuals who present with similar social and communicative deficits.

Parent Training:
We offer free monthly parent trainings for those parents who have children enrolled in our program.   We believe that parents and caregivers are integral team members.  We can help train parents to help their children generalize learned techniques into their home and natural environment.

School Consultations:
We provide school consultations and individual programming for your child to address their language and social challenges in their school setting.  We will observe your child in their classroom and during recess or lunch and develop a program to address their specific needs.  We will also meet and train school staff as needed.
